Malayalam actor Bhavana got engaged to Kannada producer Naveen on Thursday.
In a photograph that was leaked on social media, the newly-engaged couple can be seen sharing a light moment with actor Manju Warrier. Actor Samyuktha Verma can also be seen in the picture.
A friend of Bhavana told TNM that the engagement was a small function and it took place at her home in Thrissur on Thursday. According to Asianet, 16 people attended the engagement.
"Today, horoscopes were exchanged and an informal engagement ceremony took place at her house. A formal engagement will take place just ahead of the wedding, either in August or September," said a friend close to the family.
The bride-to-be was seen wearing a sparkly mustard saree and the groom-to-be was seen wearing a mundu and a cream kurta.
Naveen was the producer of Bhavana’s 2012 film Romeo. They reportedly met on the sets of the film.
The couple has flipflopped between denying and confirming their relationship. In 2014, in an interview to Times of India, she had said she had been in a relationship for two years but was not ready for marriage.
In an interview to New Indian Express in December last year, Bhavana's mother Pushpa had stated that their marriage had been fixed by Bhavana's father when he was alive.
According to reports in Malayalam media, the wedding is to be held in August in Bengaluru.
Bhavana, who has acted in many Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil films is currently acting in the Prithviraj-starrer Adam and is set to join the sets of Kannada film Tagaru.
