Acer held its next@acer event in New York and made public, its plans for the near future in the case of its Notebooks and the models introduced are the 13.3inch Swift 1 Notebook, Swift 3 Notebook in 14 and 15.6inches; the Switch 3 2-in-ones with 12.2inch size and the Switch 5 Notebook, which is also in the 2-in-one Notebook category. 

Here’s a brief glimpse of the gadgets’ specs and features and price indications:

The Swift 1, as mentioned, has a 13.3inch screen with HD resolution IPS display. The processor could be either Pentium or Celeron. The Notebook will have 4GB RAM and the SSD memory range for the customers to choose from include 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.  The cloud storage (eMMC) option may also be made available. The OS on this Notebook will be Windows 10, with the Windows Hello support and the fingerprint scanner for access security. The battery can last up to 10hiurs of usage and the Notebook will sport the usual ports for HDMI out, USB 2.0, 3.0 and 3.1 and the card reader as well.

The Acer Swift 3 Notebook will be released with many options. The Notebook sizes will be 14 and 15.6inches. The processors can be picked from Intel’s i3, i5 or i7 of the latest generation and the GPU’s fitted in the Notebooks could be Intel HD or NVIDIA GeForce. In the memory space also, there are 4GB and 8GB options and 512GB and 1TB SSD/HDD. In terms of the OS (Windows 10) and the fingerprint sensor, there is no difference between the Acer Swift 1 and Swift 3. Similarly the battery power and the provision connectivity ports are also the same.     

The Acer Switch 3 Notebook is a ‘2 in 1’ with a 12.2inch display and 1920x1200 screen resolution. It’s a multi-touch screen and can be viewed at an angle. Windows 10 runs the Notebook and the processor could be either Pentium or Celeron from Intel. A 4GB LPDDR3 SD RAM takes care of the running memory speed, while the storage is provided through the virtual eMMC of 32, 64 or 128GB in the different variants. An attached keyboard converts it into a laptop and there is a webcam rated at 720p. The ports include USB 3.1 TYpe-C and USB 3.1 Type-A besides the mic/headphone jack. 

The Acer Switch 5 is the higher end version of these Notebooks with a 12inch IPS display that has an impressive 2160x1440 resolution allowing viewing at 178 degrees angle. The processor is also the latest generation i5 or i7 and the GPU, Intel’s Graphics 620. The storage and memory features are represented by 4GB / 8GB LPDDR3 SDRAM with 256GB or 512GB SSD options. The attachable keyboard has a backlit provision so that you can work in the dark also without disturbing your partner. The OS and battery and other features have not been altered from the other models discussed above, including the fingerprint sensor provision. 

As for the pricing, Acer has indicated the USD prices for now since the devices are being made available immediately in North America. Other regions may get from June. Swift 1 will begin@$329 and Swift 3 @$599. The 2-in-ones, Switch 3 starts @$399 again and the Switch 5 will be priced at the lowest end@700. Indian customers may have to wait till a little longer to buy and use these Acer Notebooks.
