Indrajith Sukumaran is excited about his role in the upcoming Malayalam film Aaha. It is a film based on tug-of-war, directed by Bibin Paul Samuel. The actor disclosed in an interview that it is a sports film and an interesting tale is weaved around it.
Speaking to the Times of India about Aaha, the actor had said, “I haven’t done a sports film before, so this is my first time. And also vadamvali (tug of war), despite being played on an international level, is considered by Malayalis as our very own sport. The film’s director Bibin and scriptwriter Tobit Chirayath have researched a lot about the sport and those playing it as well, and their intensive research reflects in the script, which I think has come out really well. That’s what got me excited to commit to the film.”
What makes Aaha an interesting project for Indrajith is that he will have two get-ups in it. The actor pointed out that he will be appearing as a 30-year-old and a 55-year-old. Ashwin K Kumar and Amith Chakalakkal play important roles in this flick with the former also appearing in two get-ups.
Besides Aaha, Indrajith has Kurup, Thuramukham, and Jude Anthany Joseph’s 2403 ft in his kitty. Kurup is scripted by Daniell Sayooj Nair and K S Aravind while Jithin K Jose has penned the story. The film has Dulquer Salmaan playing the lead role. Sobhita Dhulipala, Sunny Wayne, and Shine Tom Chacko are also part of the star cast. Srinath Rajendran is wielding the megaphone for this venture which is based on the life of the most elusive accused till date, Sukumara Kurup.
Jude Anthany Joseph’s 2403 ft is inspired by the real-life incidents that happened during the floods that ravaged Kerala last year. The film is bankrolled by Anto Joseph under the banner Anto Joseph Film Company. Jude Anthany has scripted the film in association with John Manthrickal. Ithihasa 2 and Halal Love Story are the other films needing Indrajith’s attention.
