It has been 43 days since Bengaluru-based techie Ajitabh Kumar went missing after he went to deliver his car to a buyer he met on OLX.

The investigating officers, who are scrambling for clues have now announced a reward for anyone who passes information about Ajitabh’s whereabouts.

According to a statement released by the Special Investigation Team probing Ajitabh’s disappearance, the police have guaranteed to protect the identities of those who pass on information.

“Ajitabh went missing on December 18 along with his Maruti CIAZ car near Gunjur area. He was last seen by his roommate before he left home to meet a buyer for his car. Anyone who has any information about him will be rewarded aptly and the informant’s identity will be protected,” Whitefield DCP Abdul Ahad, who is part of the SIT, said.

On the eve of December 18 Ajitabh left his Whitefield residence to meet a person who posed as a buyer on the online trading platform OLX. The police tracked his mobile to Gunjur area.

Ajitabh’s father moved the High Court in on January 2 after he told the media that he had lost confidence in the investigating team.

On January 16, the Karnataka High Court issued an order directing the probe be handed over from the Whitefield Police to the SIT. The team comprises 17 personnel.
