11-year-old Hyd schoolgirl sexually harassed by guard

In a disturbing incident, a 11-year-old girl on Monday was sexually harassed by the security guard of a school in Hyderabad. 

The girl informed her parents who lodged a complaint against the guard on Monday at the police station.

The sub Inspector told The News Minute, “Around 7 pm on Monday, the parents came to our police station and complained that their daughter is being harassed by the security guard of her school for the past one week. She complained to the school authorities on Saturday but they didn't take any action so they came to us to lodge a complaint against him.”

Balala Hakkula Sangham, an NGO working for child rights said, “We strongly condemn the lack of security in private schools for children. In this case, the watchman of the school misbehaved with and abused a 6th grade girl.”

The NGO has demanded action against the watchman and against the school for failing to protect children from abuse even after collecting lakhs of rupees from parents.

A case has been registered against the security guard and the school authorities under section 354A (Sexual Assault) and POCSO respectively. The accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is going on.
