Multinational construction company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced on Tuesday, May 13, that it secured two major government contracts from the Union government and the Andhra Pradesh government.

Under the first contract, the company will construct two buildings for the Union Secretariat in New Delhi. L&T will construct buildings number six and seven. Each building will comprise one basement, two podiums, an upper ground floor and six additional floors.

The contract was awarded to L&T under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order from the Union Public Works Department.

In the second contract, given under a design and construction order, L&T has been asked to construct the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the state. The project includes construction of the Assembly building with one basement, a ground floor and three additional floors.

“L&T’s scope involves civil structure, finishes, associated MEP (mechanical, engineering and plumbing) services, as well as external development within the site, as well as operation and maintenance for five years,” the company stated in its press note.

Both projects are expected to be completed within the span of 18 months.
