A 35-year-old immigrant worker in Andhra Pradesh’s Annamaya district allegedly killed his relative on December 6. The man allegedly murdered his relative after he was informed by his 12-year-old daughter that the relative molested her.

According to reports, the incident took place in Obulavaripalli village of Annamayya district. The man then returned to Kuwait and recorded a video confessing to the crime.

In the video, the man explains how while his wife and he lived in Kuwait, their daughter was left in the care of his sister-in-law (wife’s sister). “My daughter was molested by my sister-in-law’s husband’s father and they tried to cover up the issue. We complained to the local police but instead of taking action, they tried to settle the matter,” he alleged in a video gone viral on social media.

He further stated that he takes full responsibility and would soon surrender to the police. “I had to take the issue seriously to protect my daughter but no one else is to be blamed in this,” he said adding that he recorded the video to highlight the issue of sexual abuse and wants the issue to reach Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The Annamayya police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the man. Investigation is underway.
