AIADMK Shirts and Narendra Modi

Written by : TNM

The News Minute | July 13, 2014 | 12:54 PM IST When the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi was walking from the Lok Sabha to the Rajya Sabha in parliament, he noticed that the AIADMK members of parliament – all 48 of them and all houses confounded – had a photograph in their transparent shirt pockets of Amma and the MPs. When asked about this, Dr. Maitreyan of the AIADMK who can speak Hindi said this was done because the party wanted to keep their leader close to their heart. Oh, their hearts bleed for Amma.It is useful to recall that in the 1960s there was a popular textile called bleeding Madras. Dyes that were not colourfast and were used in plaid textile were used to make shirts which would get pale and more pale at every wash making the shirt look different if not tired after every wash. We are not worried about Dr. Maitreyan’s white shirt. We were just wondering if and when it comes to pass, how over 300 people would fit in a photo frame that would go into a shirt pocket. We are convinced some BJP spark is trying this. Watch this space.
