The upcoming bye-elections in Tamil Nadu's Dharapuram and Madhuranthakam constituencies have turned into a crucial political contest for the ruling TVK, the opposition DMK and the AIADMK.
The DMK is contesting independently after several of its former allies, including the Congress, VCK and IUML, joined the TVK-led alliance. Meanwhile, the AIADMK is seeking to retain the two seats it won in the Assembly elections earlier this year.
In this week's episode of Yen Endra Kelvi, Shabbir Ahmed joins with journalist Siddarth Prabhakar to examine the political stakes in Dharapuram and Maduranthakam and the challenges before the ruling TVK.
