The Tamil Nadu Assembly on August 11, passed a resolution urging the Union government to abolish NEET, citing concerns over irregularities in the examination, dependence on coaching centres and the impact on students.
The resolution came as four members of the Anti-NEET Federation were completing an indefinite hunger strike in Chennai. The protest ended on August 12, after the Assembly passed the resolution, seeking not only the abolition of NEET but also greater control for states over education.
