‘Its what I was taught to do,’ Telangana man who helped rescue people in Australia shooting

The mass shooting by a father-son duo at Bondi beach in Australia cost 15 lives including that of one child. Since then, social and mainstream media has focused on the Muslim identity of the shooters and followed it up with discussions on Islam and discussions on the faith’s relationship to terrorist activity. Lost in the din is the identity of Rahmat Pasha, an Uber driver who helped rescue and assist several of those who were injured at Bondi. TNM’s Anjana Meenakshi speaks to him in this interview about the events of the day and the narratives that followed.
