Andhra SIR: CEO statement does not answer TNM’s questions | The News Minute

Written by : Pooja Prasanna

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh has raised serious questions about how names are being marked for deletion and whether the process is transparent.

A data analysis by The News Minute found that in 20,959 cases, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) were listed as the objectors. More importantly, the reasons for seeking deletion were missing from these publicly available records.

Following TNM's investigation, Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav rejected allegations of procedural violations, stating that the affected electors had been verified by Booth Level Officers, issued notices and informed through speaking orders.

In this video, Pooja Prasanna examines the data behind the controversy, the legal questions surrounding Form 7, and the gaps in transparency that remain unanswered.
