A 25-year-old woman in Hyderabad allegedly attempted to kill herself by jumping from the Victoria Memorial Metro Station in the city on Tuesday. The woman, who jumped from the concourse level, suffered injuries in the incident and was rushed to a nearby hospital by locals.

The police said that according to a preliminary investigation, the woman, who is married and has a child, resorted to the move due to depression over family issues. Officials also said that she was a software engineer and lived under the limits of the LB Nagar police station.

After her fall, the woman was rushed to a private hospital, after which, she was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) for treatment. Doctors said that she was out of danger and that her condition was stable.

The police said that they were investigating the incident and a case was yet to be registered. Further details would be revealed soon.

The Victoria Memorial Metro Station in Saroornagar is part of the recently-inaugurated phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail from LB Nagar to Ameerpet.
