Traffic diverted in Hyd for Venkaiah Naidu visit: Routes to avoid

Commuters in Hyderabad will have to face certain traffic restrictions and diversions between Friday and Sunday in view of a visit by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu to the city.

“In exercise of the powers conferred upon me under section 21(1) (b) of the Hyderabad City Police Act, I, do hereby notify, for information of the general public that in order to facilitate proper regulation of traffic in connection with the program of M Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Vice President of India from 27-07-2018 to 29-07-2018, the following traffic restrictions and diversions will be made,” Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said in an order.

On July 27, Friday, the order said that traffic would be stopped and diverted between 3.45 pm and 4.35 pm on the routes around Begumpet Airport to HICC in Hitec City.

The police said that during this time, there will be restrictions along the route that the Vice President takes, which is: Begumpet Airport, Hotel Ramada Manohar, under the PNT flyover, Shyamlal building, Hyderabad Public School (HPS ), Begumpet flyover, Greenlands junction, CM’s Camp Office, Panjagutta Flyover, Srinagar Colony T Junction, green mosque, Sagar Society T junction, LV Prasad Eye Hospital, KBR Park junction near NTR Bhavan, Jubilee Hills checkpost, Usha Kiran T junction, Peddamma Temple, Madhapur (Neeru’s junction) and HICC Madhapur.

From 5.15 to 6 pm, there would be traffic curbs on the route from HICC to Road Number 12 in Banjara Hills, which would include large parts of Madhapur and the Jubilee Hills checkpost, besides NTR Bhavan and TRS Bhavan.

On July 29, Sunday, Venkaiah Naidu will leave from Banjara Hills at 7.10 am and is scheduled to reach Begumpet Airport by 8 am. For this, curbs will be in place from NTR Bhavan to Nagarjuna Circle and also near the CM’s Camp Office, Greenlands flyover and HPS.

“All citizens are requested to take alternate routes to their destinations and to avoid the above routes during the specified timings and co-operate with the Traffic Police during the period of traffic diversion as mentioned above,” the city police said in a press release.
