Telengana celebrations held at Gun Park

The News Minute | June 3, 2014 | 5:09 PM IST Various state governments, civil liberty groups and joint action committee joined the celebrations at important junctions and people continued to burst crackers. Several groups reached the Gun Park memorial and paid tributes to the martyrs of Telangana struggle. Gun park memorial is a monument situated in Hyderabad in memory of 369 students who died during the 1969 agitation for a separate Telangana state. In was in 1969 that the Telangana struggle first started as an uprising by government employees and students of the Osmania University.
