A 31-year-old woman in Telangana’s Nalagonda district was found hanging on Sunday after her husband assaulted her for allegedly leaving the geyser too long.

Mohan Rao, Susrutha’s husband, and his parents have been arrested in connection with this incident after her elder son told the police about the assault.

NDTV reported that the deceased had left her parents a text message and spoke to her father after her husband assaulted her in front of their two children and in-laws. She took the extreme step after that.

Before Susrutha’s parents could reach her place, they were told that she hung herself to death.

“He asked her, why did you switch on the geyser...who do you think will pay the bill? She said on the phone that she was pulled out of the bathroom, humiliated and hit in front of her in-laws and children. She was murdered. There are bruises all over her body,” Susrutha’s father told NDTV.

“They were harassing her for dowry even after two sons,” the deceased’s uncle said.
