Leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) continued to lash out against Telangana party working president A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday, as many demanded his expulsion for 'anti-party' activities. 

Meanwhile, other leaders demanded that he should be stripped of all his titles, before he is forced to quit. 

“If Revanth is stripped of his posts, there is all possibility that he will be compelled to quit the party. As a leader who has been demanding that defector MLAs quit their posts, Revanth too will be under pressure to resign from the Assembly membership after joining Congress.If he does not resign, the anti-defection law would be applicable and TRS may not spare him,“ a senior TDP leader told the Times of India.

Telangana TDP president, L Ramana told ToI that the disciplinary committee of the party would take a call soon.

Clarifying that no TDP leader was supposed to meet leaders of other parties without taking permission from the party’s national president, Ramana earlier told media persons, “We will take a decision on Revanth Reddy after discussing the issue at the party’s legislature party meeting slated for October 26. TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu will also be briefed about the developments in the meantime.”

Revanth Reddy has been facing flak after his recent visit to Delhi where he reportedly met Congress big shots including Rahul Gandhi, in a bid to join the party.

At the party Politburo meeting held last week, there were alleged heated exchanges between Revanth Reddy and other senior leaders over his Delhi tour with the former saying, "I will give an explanation only to Chandrababu Naidu".

The 47-year-old leader, who is also the floor leader of the TDP in the State Assembly, has always been at the forefront fiercely attacking policies of the KCR government.

He is expected to defect sometime in November.
