The Telangana School Education Department has instructed private unaided schools to make their fee structures for the 2026–27 academic year publicly available to parents and students.
Under the latest directions, schools must display class-wise fee details at their campuses and publish the same information on their official websites.
The fee details must also be uploaded to the Telangana School Education Department’s official portal, schooledu.telangana.gov.in.
Telangana state director of school education E Naveen Nicolas said Regional Joint Directors and District Educational Officers have been asked to ensure that private unaided schools comply with the directions.
The department has created a dedicated facility on its portal through which school managements can submit their fee details. Schools are also required to upload the documents used to arrive at the fee amounts for each class.
These supporting records must be signed by members of the school’s governing body and prepared in accordance with the provisions of the relevant 1994 Government Order. The GO enacted the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Establishment, Recognition, Administration and Control of Schools under Private Managements) Rules, 1993/1994, which continue to regulate private school operations, governance, and fee structures in Telangana post the bifurcation of the Telugu states.
The department said the move is intended to improve transparency and ensure that parents have clear access to information on the fees being collected by private unaided schools.
Authorities have also warned schools against non-compliance. Schools that fail to display their fee structure on their notice boards and websites may receive show-cause notices from the concerned Regional Joint Directors or District Educational Officers.
Further action will be taken against institutions that continue to violate the directions, in accordance with the provisions of the 1994 Government Order.
