Hyderabad-born cab driver Rahmat Pasha, who helped rescue people injured at Bondi Beach shooting in Sydney, has alleged that a group of persons are trying to encroach upon the land owned by his family in Vikarabad.

He also accused Congress MLC Balmoor Venkat of using his political influence to help encroachers. Venkat has denied the allegation.

The Bondi beach incident happened in December 2025 and a father-son duo were charged with mass shooting at the public resulting in 16 deaths.

In a video circulating on social media, Rahmat alleged that a group of people had been harassing his family for nearly six years over a 5.5-acre plot owned by his 75-year-old father, Mohammed Azmath Pasha, in Alampally village located near the New Civil Hospital.

Rahmat alleged that the group was attempting to lay a road through the property despite a court order protecting his father's possession. Speaking to TNM, Rahmat said that despite police complaints, no action was taken. He also accused the police of pressuring his father to permit the road work and making him sit at the police station for several hours.

Questioning the government's handling of the dispute, Rahmat said that the MLC was using his position via his associates including Rahmat’s own relative Aslam Feroze to target his elderly father.

Responding to the allegations, Aslam Feroze accused Rahmat’s family of trying to prevent the construction of a building approved by the Directorate of Town and Country Planning. “The property was divided by Azmat Pasha himself and I legally own the piece of land on which I am constructing. Despite this, there is a legal hurdle,” he said.

Aslam further said a relative who was helping him reached out to Venkat Balmoor for assistance. TNM reached out to MLC Venkat but he denied the allegations.

“I don’t even know Rahmat Pasha or his family. The Sanathnagar area division president for the Congress party, Muzzamil got involved because he knows the family. Upon learning about the issue, I asked Muzzamil to stay out of it as it was a family dispute. I have nothing whatsoever to do with this issue,” Venkat told TNM.

Seven FIRs registered over the last six years

According to police records, Vikarabad Town Police registered an FIR after businessman Kamran Mirza Shakeebai alleged that a group led by Khaleel Pasha, Aslam Feroz and Rakesh trespassed onto his 4.05-acre property in August 2020 using a JCB excavator and tractors, damaging structures and threatening caretakers.

In February 2022, another complaint was registered after Azmath Pasha, Rahmat’s father alleged that a group of armed persons used heavy machinery to demolish the boundary wall surrounding his 5.33-acre property. Two other complaints given by Azmath Pasha led to FIRs in 2023 concerning alleged attempts to erect fencing, cut trees and remove stone barriers on the disputed land.

More recently, another FIR registered in November 2025, alleges removal of signboards erected on the property. The complaint stated that the signboards displayed details of a temporary injunction granted by the Junior Civil Court, Vikarabad restraining interference with Azmath Pasha's possession.

In another petition before the Telangana High Court, Justice T Vinod Kumar directed the police not to interfere in private civil land disputes and to act in accordance with the law if any criminal offence was reported.

Rahmat, however, alleged that despite the court proceedings and multiple FIRs, the harassment had continued. He claimed that Rakesh had attempted to set his father ablaze using petrol after burning a board displaying the court order. He also alleged that the police had failed to act despite the family approaching senior officers with evidence.
