The Congress has demanded that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) release the full 110-page report of a three-member committee constituted last month, to probe the Intermediate results fiasco and has accused the ruling government in the state, of circulating a “tampered and fake report”.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesperson Dr Sravan Dasoju alleged that the TRS government was hand in glove with Globarena Technologies, the IT firm whose services were hired by the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE).
Sravan stated that Education Minister Jagadish Reddy, Principal Secretary Janardhan Reddy and TSBIE Secretary Dr. Ashok were directly responsible for the entire fiasco and therefore, they must be punished.
Ever since the BIE released the results, students and parents have been up in arms. Many bright students who did well in the first year failed in the second year, suggesting an error in the evaluation process.
After close to 20 students killed themselves allegedly dejected over their poor academic performance in Telangana over the last two weeks, a three-member panel was formed by the state government to probe lapses in the Intermediate results. A brief was released to the media on the findings of the panel, but it remained vague and inconclusive on who was to be blamed for the fiasco.
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters in New Delhi along with TPCC Working President Ponnam Prabhakar and Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Sravan said that the entire report was 110-pages long and had exposed several flaws in the valuation process and also made several recommendations and demanded that all findings be made public.
“Not a single step has been taken by the TRS government to undo the injustice done to several lakh Intermediate students. No action has been taken against Globarena Technologies whose crime has been clearly established in the probe conducted by the three-member committee. Instead, efforts are being made by the government to shield the private firm,” Sravan alleged.
Sravan reiterated the demand for a judicial enquiry into the matter.
