Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh, who praised the assault of Dalits in Una, has been booked for “spreading enmity between two groups”.

Hyderabad’s Mangalghat police have registered an FIR against Singh under Section 153A of the IPC, for promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, and disrupting communal harmony.

The case has been booked based on a complaint by Mala Sangshema Sangam President, B Ramprasad.

On July 30 Raja Singh had uploaded a video on his Facebook profile, in which he said that any Dalit who was found with dead cows or carrying cow meat deserved to be beaten. He had also claimed that such “dirty Dalits” were giving patriotic and religious Dalits a bad name, and had issued a warning that people from any section of society found carrying out cow slaughter would be  taught a lesson like the Dalits in Una.

Mangalghat Sub-Inspector Shekar told The News Minute, “We will investigate into the matter and take a call on his arrest. We need to know where and when he made the speech.”
