Chandrasekhar Rao lashed out at his AP counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu holding him squarely responsible for the power crisis in Telangana. Rao blamed the AP government for violating the AP Reorganization act and the directions of the Central Electric Authority on power sharing and power purchase agreements. He refused to stop the power generation at Srisailam and said “We have no intention of stopping the power generation there as 300 MW offered by AP is no match for the 900 MW being generated by us to save the standing crops.”Leader of opposition in the AP assembly, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi where he has requested the PM to immediately intervene in the issue of Telangana using the water from the Srisailam reservoir and contain the state from doing so. Meanwhile, the Telangana Chief Minister also expressed his readiness for a debate on the issue with Naidu and has suggested two plausible locations where the debate could be held.
