Telangana ACB finds crores stashed away at RTO officer's residences

 The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday claimed to have discovered assets of Rs 3 crore belonging to an RTO official based in Medchal in the neighbouring Ranga Reddy district.

The ACB, on September 19 last year, had caught red-handed assistant motor vehicle inspector Dugni Venkateshwarlu while taking a bribe. This was followed by searches at his and relatives' residences.

A case of possessing disproportionate assets was registered against him on Wednesday, an ACB release said.

He allegedly possesses four houses, three cars, Rs 13 lakh in fixed deposits, Rs 74 lakh in bank, 2 kg of gold jewellery, silver articles worth about Rs 32 lakh.

While as per the documents seized along with the assets they are worth Rs 3 crore, their market value could be upto Rs 6 crore, the ACB release said, adding that the officer was being questioned.
