Forty-one-year-old Rajini, a resident of Secunderabad, suspected her husband of sexually abusing them. The behavior of her 8-year-old daughter, Aswitha, set off the suspicions. On Wednesday evening, she acted on those suspicions in a brutal manner, by slitting her daughters’ throats.

Police officials at the Tukaram police station in Secunderabad said, “For the past few days, 41-year-old housewife Rajni suspected her husband of sexually abusing both her daughters. So yesterday after 9 pm she broke a glass bottle and slit the throats of her daughters. After killing her daughters Rajni went to Hussain Sagar to purify herself and later she herself surrendered before the police".

She reportedly also texted a friend, saying, “I killed them and liberated them.”

Inspector T Laxmi Narayana added, "Both her daughters were very active, especially the elder one. But in the last few days she would get really scared whenever she faced her father. So the wife felt that her husband must be sexually abusing the elder daughter and killed both of them".

As there is no evidence against the father, police officials are investigating the case. Rajni’s husband denied the truth of her accusations, and said he could never do such things to his daughters.

A case of murder has been booked against Rajini under Section 302 of the IPC.
