Moderate showers in Hyderabad on Monday evening created heavy water-logging at key roads bringing traffic to a standstill again, this time too most noticeably along the IT corridor. The heavy waterlogging even forced the Cyberbad traffic police to issue a traffic advisory for those commuting towards JNTU, suggesting commuters to adopt alternate routes.

Due to the heavy waterlogging observed near Shilparamam, the Cyberabad police have advised commuters heading towards JNTU to opt for alternate routes, like through Kothaguda - Kondapur - Miyapur Alwin - Miyapur X road - JNTU.

Shocking visuals of three cars being stuck on the flooded Nectar Garden road were tweeted by the Cyberabad traffic police twitter handle. The traffic police have advised commuters to avoid using the road that sits bordering the Durgam cheruvu lake. Nectar Garden road is a road that connects the IT corridor to the rest of the city.

Slow traffic has also been observed from Khajaguda to Biodiversity due to the waterlogging at Orion Villa. Commuters from Tolichowki heading towards Gachibowli have been advised to take an alternative route from Khajaguda Junction via Nanakramguda Rotary towards Gachibowli Junction.

The traffic due to waterlogging is not just limited to the IT corridor and its connecting roads, the Hyderababd traffic police have also tweeted out details of the slow movement of traffic across other areas under their jurisdiction.

The slow movement of traffic has been observed near CTO Junction, Paradise Junction, Parklane, Rocha Bazar, Ranigunj towards Karbala Maidan via Bible House, Ghasmandi x road, Bata Showroom towards Patny Junction. The roads connecting Masab tank too are witnessing heavy traffic.

The rainfall data released by IMD Hyderabad suggests the short spell that brought the traffic to its knees in the city was just moderate.

According to IMD, only Jubilee Hills locality witnessed heavy rainfall with 67 mm while Madhapur, Gachibowli areas received moderate rainfall between 61.8 to 60 mm.
