Hyderabad shocker: Tiff over Rs 130 claims life of hotel employee

A fight over Rs.130 between two hotel workers, led to one of them being killed in Hyderabad on Monday, police said.

The incident occurred in Hafiz Baba Nagar area in the old city of Hyderabad.

The deceased has been identified as Raju, a 25-year-old native of Maharashtra, who was a worker in a hotel in Hafiz Baba Nagar. 

The accused, Kamlesh, who hails from Uttar Pradesh was also a worker in a nearby hotel and had a fight with Raju. 

“Raju had earlier borrowed Rs. 130 from Kamlesh. On Monday, Kamlesh was supposed to go back to his native place. He asked for his money from Raju, that is when the fight started,” said Inspector Shankar of Kanchanbagh police station. 

In the ensuing scuffle, Kamlesh pushed Raju who fell on the ground and sustained a head injury. He died on the spot, police said.

The body was shifted to the government-run Osmania Hospital for autopsy. Police said they have detained Kamlesh and are questioning him.

The youngsters, living on a footpath, were working at the Spicy Bawarchi Hotel for the past month.

"A case has been registered under Section 304 of IPC against Kamlesh," added the Inspector.
