The Cyberabad police on Monday detained 25 paramedics who were allegedly operating in the city without a valid license.

The police said that these fake doctors would each see 30 patients a day, and were operating clinics with beds and even prescribed medicines to the patients.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report:

After basic diagnosis, they would refer patients for blood and urine tests and prescribe medicines based on the report. One of them, running a clinic out of a double-storey building in Malkajgiri with five beds was an Intermediate Commerce passout. During raids, the police seized huge quantities of injection ampoules, tablet strips with expired tablets, BP measuring apparatus, syringes, saline bottles, anti-TB drug packs, syrups along with other surgical equipment.

The report adds that similar practitioners were running a racket all across Hyderabad and parts of Secunderabad.

“They had some medicines which were issued by government hospitals, with a clear marking that they were not to be sold,” a police official told DC.

A case was registered and further investigation is on.
