Hyderabad drunken driving: Young Ramya’s grandfather also succumbs to injuries

In further tragic news to the family, Madhusudhana Chary, the grandfather of Hyderabad girl Ramya who died recently, also passed away at Yashoda Hospital on Monday morning. He suffered rib injuries in an accident on July 1, when the car they were traveling in was hit by another. He was being treated in the hospital for the last 18 days.

P Ramya was a class IV student who died in the same accident while she was returning home after completing her first day at school. Their car was hit by another car driven by Shraveel, an engineering student who was allegedly drunk and driving along with five of his friends, who were present in the car when the accident took place.

Shraveel was arrested after the mishap and is currently in judicial custody.

Rajesh, Ramya’s paternal uncle died on the spot while her mother Radhika, another uncle and grandfather Madhusudhana Chary were admitted to the hospital.
