Following the death of nine-year-old Ramya, the Hyderabad police on Monday took K Shravil, who was driving the car that caused the accident in the city’s Banjara Hills, into custody.

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle:

The police have already collected evidence against him to prove that he was drunk while driving. The cops have also established that he was not having a driving license at the time of the incident. Officials said that he will be grilled in police custody for two days. He has been booked for culpable homicide.

"We will take Shravil into custody from the Chanchalguda prison on Tuesday and produce him before the court on Thursday," Banjara Hills inspector S Srinivas told the Times of India. 

Ramya was on ventilator support for over a week, since the crash on July 1, after doctors declared her brain dead, adding that she was not in a condition to be operated upon.

She died on Saturday at around 6.47 pm.

Ramya was picked up from her first day of school and was going home with her mother, grandfather and two uncles when an allegedly drunk Shravil rammed the car, leaving one of her uncles dead and all the family members injured.
