Hyderabad BJP MLA Raja Singh booked for alleged "hate speech" against Muslims

 A case was registered on Monday against Telangana BJP MLA T. Raja Singh for a provocative speech against Muslims at a gathering of the Hindu Jagran Samhiti (HJS), after it was circulated widely on social media.The case which was registered at the Dabeelpura police station in Hyderabad alleged that the Goshamahal MLA was trying to promote enmity between two religions, namely Hinduism and Islam by his provocative statements."A case has been registered under Section 153 A and the police are looking into the matter. A video of the speech was uploaded on YouTube by a channel named SR news channel and widely circulated on Facebook and Twitter," Dabeelpura Sub-Inspector, Vijay Bhasker Reddy told TNM.The complaint which was registered by Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) leader Amjed Ullah Khan also states that "In his speech, Raja Singh claims that whenever he organizes a Shoba Yatra in Hyderabad, the Hyderabad Police and State government conducts a meeting with Muslim clerics asking them not to wear caps on the day as they refuse to take responsibility for their safety" (Amjed Ullah Khan adresses the media)In the speech, the BJP MLA also casually adds that the police register five to six cases, whenever he organizes a rally in Hyderabad. "These remarks clearly show that Raja Singh has no respect or fear of law," the MBT leader added. This is not the first time that Raja Singh is in trouble with the police booking a case on him in May for allegedly assaulting and threatening a constable after the cop asked some persons to stop playing loud music at a marriage procession.
