Written by : TNM

The News Minute | December 28, 2014 | 10:05 am ISTThe Hyderabad high court has made it clear to the Telangana government, that it could not claim that it needs more time to fulfill obligations on the fact that it was still a new state.According to a report in the Times of India, the court made this clear while hearing a plea by Madina Ice Factory, which had questioned punitive action taken on them by the Pollution Control Board (PCB) authorities.During the hearing, it came to light that the PCB’s of both Telangana and AP were not fully formed and neither of the states had appointed appellate authorities which is a mandatory requirement. When the matter came up for hearing again on Friday, AP informed the court that they had began the process of appointing an appellate authority whereas the Telangana counterpart had not initiated any action which irked the comment by the division bench.
