Drug bust: Miffed KTR tells Digvijay Singh he has lost it and it's time to retire

The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, Digvijay Singh, is in the news again after he alleged that influential friends of Telangana IT Minister KTR were involved in the drug scam that was unearthed recently.

In a tweet, he said, “Huge drug scam in Telangana. Influential friends of TRS heir apparent involved. Let’s see if they would be saved or prosecuted. Let’s see.

In response, KTR tweeted, “You’ve completely lost it sir. Time to retire gracefully & do something worth your age. Glad that you’ve finally learnt to spell ‘Telangana’.

Digvijay Singh’s allegations come at a time when the sensational drug scam which surfaced recently has rocked Hyderabad, with several high-profile Telugu film personalities and even students from reputed institutes, found to be using high-end drugs like LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) and MDMA (methylenedioxy-methamphetamine).

However, this is not the first time that the two have been involved in a war of words on Twitter.

Earlier this year, on May 1, Digvijay Singh had accused the Telangana police of radicalising Muslim youths and encouraging them “to become ISIS modules”.

The former Madhya Pradesh CM added, “It was on their information that MP Police arrested accused who were responsible for the bomb blast in train in Shajapur District of MP.”

“The issue is whether Telangana Police should be trapping Muslim Youths in becoming ISIS modules by posting inflammatory information?

Is It Ethical ? Is it Moral ? Has KCR authorised Telangana Police to trap Muslim Youths and encourage them to join ISIS?

If he has then shouldn't he own the responsibility and resign?”

In response, KTR had said, “Most irresponsible & reprehensible thing coming from a former CM. Request you to withdraw these comments unconditionally or provide evidence.”

The Hyderabad police had even filed a case against Digvijay Singh based on a complaint by Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath.
