The News Minute | December 26, 2014 | 9:30 am ISTThe Union defence ministry on Thursday approved Telangana state’s tableau for the Republic Day Parade of 2015 with the Telangana float depicting Bonalu which is the official state festival with the Golconda Fort forming the backdrop.Though the parade float proposed by AP was accepted, the proposal of the TRS government was not accepted initially. TRS Lok Sabha member A P Jitender Reddy had meetings with defence minister Manohar Parrikar and finance minister Arun Jaitley to re consider the proposal, a report in the Times of India adds.The parade selection committee has shortlisted Bonalu for Telangana and Sankranti for Andhra Pradesh and has requested the two states to submit miniature 3-D models of the proposals.Tweet
