Chargesheet filed against TDP MLA Revanth Reddy for statements against KCR

The News Minute | December 20, 2014 | 10:00 am ISTA case was lodged against TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad by a Telangana advocate who charged the MLA of making defamatory statements against Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.The chargesheet was filed by the Banjara Hills police. The police said that there was strong evidence against Revanth Reddy for summons to be issued to the MLA and move towards trial, a report in the Times of India adds.The TDP MLA had earlier allegedly said that a person needed to have 100 crore to meet KCR and 3 crore to meet his son and Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao. Telangana advocate Govardhan Reddy filed the petition in the court.Revanth Reddy was charged under IPC sections 504 and 505 which deal with statements made to disrupt peace and could attract imprisonment for two to three years.The Banjara Hills police also issued summons to Revanth Reddy as part of the investigation, seeking his explanation.
