A techie couple was found dead in Hyderabad’s Ashok Nagar, allegedly by consuming pesticide. The couple had died three days ago, however, police came to know about it only on Thursday evening.

According to the police, Naveen Yadav and Swapna, both aged 26 and working at two different MNCs, got married in May last year. However, they frequently quarrelled and had also approached the police earlier. The conflict extended to Naveen and Swapna’s families. Police say relationship troubles might have led to them taking their own lives.

The couple had died three days ago. Suspicious that the couple didn’t answer their calls, friends of the couple went to their house in Ashok Nagar. However, as no one answered the door and as they could smell something foul, they informed the local police.

The police later broke open the door and found the couple dead in their penthouse apartment, which is on the third floor of the complex. Although the police did not find any note, they recovered a pesticide bottle at the spot where the two were found dead. The bodies have been sent to the state-run Gandhi hospital for autopsy.

Speaking to TNM, Medipally Inspector K Jagannath Reddy said, “Our primary investigation ascertains that it was suicide. We are waiting for the autopsy reports to confirm it.”

The Inspector said the friends they spoke to said that the couple were in love for some time and had been classmates too. They got married last year but they had marital troubles.

“Both friends and neighbours told us that the couple often had quarrels. Because of their fights, both their families were also in conflict,” he said.

The couple were from Nacharam near Tarnaka. However, after getting married they moved to Ashok Nagar as it was closer to their work place, police said.
