300 computerized post offices in Hyderabad to act as ATMs soon

The News Minute | November 27, 2014 | 7:20 pm ISTNearly 300 computerized post offices in Hyderabad will act as ATM outlets from January 2015, AP chief postmaster general B V Sudhakar said while addressing the press on Wednesday.In a move expected to provide relief to card holders looking for hard cash, the computerized post offices will be provided with machines.According to a report in the Times of India, B V Sudhakar said that this facility at present will only be available for SBI account holders and the maximum amount that can be withdrawn is Rs 1000.However, he also added that the facilities will be extended to other banks if this initiative gets a positive response. Increasing the amount that can be withdrawn is also being considered.
