A 30-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a three-member gang after they dragged her into the bushes and assaulted her male colleague near Tiruvallur on Thursday night.

The Deccan Chronicle reports that in her complaint to police, the woman said she managed to escape from the violators at 11 pm and walked to nearby Papparapakkam village before calling her brother on mobile. He took her home and later admitted her to the Government Hospital in Tiruvallur.

Tiruvallur All Women Police station has registered a rape case and are on the look out for the gang.

Police said the victim had gone for work at Sriperumbudur on Thursday morning.

As she missed her bus, she asked her colleague to drop her at home. When they were travelling from Mannur junction road towards Papparapakkam, the hand bag of the woman slipped and fell on the road.  When the two returned and started searching for the bag, three men emerged from darkness and attacked the rider before dragging her into the bushes and rape her.

She fainted and after regaining consciousness, she walked towards Papparapakkam. She borrowed a mobile from a villager and called her brother. After listening to her version, the police summoned her colleague to corroborate it.
