Watch: Moments leading up to Coimbatore Hindu leader's brutal murder, in images

Two weeks after the death of Hindu Munnani spokesperson C Sasikumar in Coimbatore, TN’s Crime Branch-CID on Tuesday released images of the suspects from CCTV footage.

A statement released by the Crime Branch CID states, “A careful analysis of CCTV cameras have revealed the presence of certain persons at Prasanna Lakshmi bakery, V.K.K. Menon Road, Gandhipuram on the day of occurrence at about 10.00 to 10.30 pm. The photograph of those persons taken from CCTV camera is being publicized.”

The Crime Branch also states that a large number of people have been contacted to gather human intelligence pertaining to this case and technical data was collected from CCTVs installed at various places.

The CBCID has asked suspects to approach the Special Investigation Division at PRS campus, Dr. Balasundaram Road in Coimbatore.

C Sasikumar was hacked by four people on September 21 and died in the hospital on September 22. Following his death, Hindu Munnani functionaries protested in Coimbatore, leading to heightened violence.
