Vijayakant promises free Wi-Fi, loans for women to start beauty parlours

DMDK-PWF’s CM candidate Vijayakant launched his first batch of poll promises on Wednesday and Thursday– free Wi-Fi across Tamil Nadu and seed capital for women to start beauty parlours.

On Wednesday, he launched a scheme for women to avail free beautician training and get loans to start their own beauty parlours.

He followed Wednesday’s promise with a far more ambitious one – Free Wi-Fi. In a video on his official facebook page on Thursday, a farmer outwits a local leader who tries to fix a low price for his produce.

The farmer checks his phone for the actual price and finds that it is higher, and says he can’t be fooled thanks to free Wi-Fi. Miffed, the leader walks away. Vijayakant's pitch is aimed at "shaping the state into an intellectual community."
