Two arrested in Coimbatore for murdering BJP worker

Written by : PTI

Two youths have been arrested for allegedly killing a 23-year-old BJP worker, whose body, bearing multiple stab wounds, was found in Coimbatore four days ago.

"Previous enmity" is suspected to be the reason behind the murder.

Vigneshwaran was found dead with stab injuries on January 15. On definite clues, police nabbed two persons of the same locality who allegedly confessed that they stabbed him to death, police said.

The duo told the police that Vigneshwaran had "scolded" them over a two-wheeler accident involving them recently and again allegedly used foul language against them on January 15.

Angered over this, they stabbed the BJP worker with knives, resulting in his death, the accused told the police.

Police said they arrested the duo in the late hours of Monday, when they were attempting to flee the city after remaining underground.
