1. The long-awaited Chennai Metro rail was inaugurated on Monday afternoon by TN CM J Jayalalithaa via video-conferencing. As people thronged the metro station, the day turned out even more special with the first metro rail ride being piloted by a woman, A Preethi, a 28-year-old diploma-holder in engineering. 2. The alleged custodial torture case involving Shameel Ahmed in Ambur is expected to be transferred to the CB-CID.
