A 32-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in Namakkal allegedly for murdering his 11-month son.

The body was found in a highly decomposed state. The autopsy was performed where the body was found by an expert team from Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital in Salem.

“The body of 11-month-old male baby, Dharaneesh, was exhumed and autopsy was performed by expert team. The baby could have been killed a week or two weeks ago,” A Sujatha, DSP, Velur told The New Indian Express.

The Jedarpalayam police had filed a missing case of the child on Tuesday after a complaint from Tamilselvan’s sister Vanitha but on Wednesday, the police changed the section to murder and arrested the boy’s father, Tamilselvan.

He had been also been arrested in December last for the suicide case of his wife Revathi. Tamilselvan had tiffs with his wife as he doubted her fidelity, police told TNIE. He had come out of prison on February 10, 2016.

Both the children, Naliksha (4) and the younger one (11 months) were at his sister’s house.

Sources told TNIE that he kidnapped the younger one from his sister’s house on March 15 and killed the child with a chemical substance used for gluing together PVC piples and buried the body in a farm near his house.
