TN assembly polls: TMC joins PWF, will contest from 26 seats

In a fresh twist to the forthcoming assembly elections in the Tamil Nadu, the GK Vasan-led Tamil Manila Congress has announced an alliance with the DMDK-PWF front on Saturday.

The alliance with Vijaykanth as the chief ministerial candidate will offer TMC 26 seats,

With this DMDK, MDMK, TMC, VCK will contest from 104,29, 26 seats respectively while the VCK, CPI and CPI (M) will contest 25 seats.

TMC led by former union minister G.K Vasan prior to Saturday’s announcement had held talks with the BJP after the party refused to accept  AIADMK’s demand of contesting elections on the two leaves  symbol on Thursday.

According to media reports, the talks were initiated by MDMK leader Vaiko who is the architect of the Third front in the state.

Incidentally, earlier on the day TNCC president EVKS Elangovan urged the TMC to merge with the Congress again
