Tit for tat: ‘Traffic’ Ramaswamy files defamation case against Jayalalithaa

In a reversal of roles, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is on the receiving end of a defamation case.

Social activist KR Ramaswamy has filed a defamation case against the AIADMK chief for a cartoon and poem carried by the party mouthpiece Namadhu MGR.

More popularly known as Traffic Ramaswamy, has filed a defamation case for a cartoon character called ‘Nersal (fed-up) Ramaswamy’ and a poem published on June 12, 2016 in Namadhu MGR.

The case will come up for hearing on February 26, 2016.

In December 2015, Jayalalithaa had filed a defamation case against ‘Traffic’ Ramaswamy for allegedly circulating WhatsApp messages relating to distribution of flood relief material in Chennai and other parts of the state.
