Written by : TNM Staff

A fight between two groups during the annual day function at a government school led to the death of 19-year-old boy on Saturday night in Kancheepuram.

One of the boy’s friend, a 21-year-old, also had grievous injuries.

The incident also led to a road roko in Vadhiyoor village by caste Hindus asking police to arrest the accused. The police had to pacify them preventing a caste clash. No arrests were made till Sunday evening, according to The New Indian Express.

Baluchettichatram police told TNIE, “We have formed special teams to arrest the suspects. The family of the deceased is refusing to take the body until the arrest is made.”

On Friday, Mohan, the deceased and his friend Parasuraman were watching the annual day celebrations when another group from nearby colony created a ruckus. Mohan and his friend asked the group to be calm which led to a fight between the two outside the event premises.

Both Mohan and Parasuraman were stabbed by the group. Mohan was declared dead in the hospital and Parasuraman survived, according to TNIE.
