Teen caught selling endangered animals online

The News Minute | October 13, 2014 | 08.35 am ISTA teenager has been arrested for being part of online sales of wild animals, some including endangered species.The 17 year-old boy, a resident of Kolathur has been part of this online trade for the last three months, said The Hindu.TRAFFIC, the crime prevention wing of the World Wide Fund for Nature India(WWF) caught him in the act by posing as a potential customer interested in the animals.He had negotiated to supply the TRAFFIC worker 20 star tortoises but was nabbed during delivery of the goods. These exotic animals cost nearly Rs. 15,000 each outside India, said the report.
