Troubling a citizen of the state just proved costly for the Tamil Nadu Housing Board,The Madras High Court on Tuesday has directed the Tamil Nadu Housing Board(TNHB) to pay a petitioner Rs. 25,000  for making her file three writ petitions and two contempt petitions over land acquired by them 22 years ago, reported New Indian Express. The issue began over the acquisition of land owned by R Rukmani by the TNHB in 1993, the compensation for which was not provided to her. When she filed a petition in 2002, the Madras High Court directed the TNHB to consider the application. Though a special Tahsildar submitted that the amount had been paid, Rukmani however, never received the money.The petitioner then moved the High Court once again in 2011, wherein once again the TNHB did not deposit the money. It was then that she filed a third petition.
