DMK working president on Thursday said that all the uncertainty with regard to the political crisis in Tamil Nadu will vanish once the DMK moves a ‘no-confidence’ motion in the assembly.

This comes a day after Tamil Nadu governor Vidyasagar Rao told political party leaders that he could not intervene in internal party matters.

Addressing the media in Salem, Stalin said, “Today, everyone is watching what DMK would do in the present political crisis. The ruling party’s 19 MLAs submitted a letter to Governor Vidyasagar Rao saying that they had lost confidence in Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami, reported The New Indian Express.

Under such circumstances, he said that the Governor should have ordered a trust vote in the assembly but he “failed to do the right thing”. 

Then, he said that he wrote to the Governor and sent a delegation of DMK, Congress and IUML MLAs to meet the Governor to order an Assembly session.

However, he pointed out the Governor’s statement which said that the ball is not in his court and said that DMK has 89 MLAs, which places the ball in our court. 

He added that DMK is in talks with lawyers to take suitable action for the people of Tamil Nadu.

He urged people to wait for some more time for good days to arrive and information will trickle down as they want to maintain suspense, reported TNIE.

On Thursday, a delegation of opposition leaders including Kanimozhi from DMK, Anand Sharma from Congress, Sitaram Yechury from CPI (M), D Raja from CPI, TKS Elangovan, RS Bharathi and Tiruchy N Siva from DMK met the President and asked him to intervene and direct the Governor to conduct a floor test in the Assembly. 

They stated that the Governor was ‘misusing position’ to allow a minority government to function in the state.
