Sri Lankan national caught spying on behalf of ISI in Chennai

The News Minute| September 11, 2014| 8.45 am ISTThe National Investigation Agency(NIA) has arrested a Sri Lankan national in Chennai on Wednesday for spying in India. He was there in Chennai on part of Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).Arun Selvarajan was caught carrying two passports along with pictures of Officers Training Academy and the NSG hub in Chennai, according to The Times of India. It was also found that he had recced crowded areas in the city for future planned attacks.He is believed to be a part of a group of spies picked by Pakistani diplomat in Sri Lanka Amir Zubari Siddiqui, said the report. Thameem Ansari, another Chennai resident, arrested in 2012, had been part of the same group.
