Puducherry bars set to serve alcohol until midnight

Considering the large customer base that the UT has because of a wide gap between it and its neighbour states, the Excise department has decided to extend sale of liquor in hotels and restaurants by an extra hour, reported New Indian Express. Responding to guests’ requests, the Excise department extended the time of sale beyond 11 pm. It is however, considered a move in order to enhance its excise income, said the report. The prices between Puducherry and other States are so vast, that it is almost half as compared to to its neighbours
